We are currently actively looking for:
Lab Chemist (M/F)
Position summary:
Performs laboratory testing of various customer supplied, quality control or round robin samples for purposes such as qualitative analysis and process control. Certifies that samples are in conformity with applicable quality specifications as per customer and/or industry requirements.
Duties and responsibilties:
- Document each test result and maintain neat, complete, and accurate records. Prepares corresponding customer or internal reports as per standard procedures
- Obtains day-to-day analytical testing requirements from the Operations Department based upon nominations received from clients in order to provide accurate, reliable results on a timely basis. Works directly with customers for laboratory submitted samples when required
- Maintains for samples 'cradle to grave' process including the login, labeling and disposal of all samples as per internal company procedures
- Maintains laboratory, instruments, equipment and supplies in good working order
- Reports to the Laboratory Manager, but may receive direction on day-to-day activities from the Laboratory Supervisor and/or Operations Department
- Ensures that laboratory staff and visitors follow all documented safety requirements as defined by the company safety program
- Audit laboratory records and laboratory personnel training records for compliance to appropriate SOP
- Assist with calibration and maintenance of lab instruments required by ISO/industry standards
- Comply with quality, health and safety measures while operating in a laboratory environment
- Ensures proper Quality Control and instrumentation calibration and verification as needed
- Offer good quality and reliable results in accordance with the applicable regulations
- Assists in the training of laboratory personnel
Profile:
- Requires at least a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related Science degree or a minimum of three (3) years general laboratory experience or two (2) years experience in a petroleum laboratory
- Must possess inter-personal skills and have ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Must possess basic computer and math skills
- Must be able to distinguish color
- High level of accuracy
- Knowledge of applicable quality standards (e.g. ISO-standards)
- Logical reasoning
- Professional communication
- Pro-active thinking and problem-solving attitude
Field Inspector (M/F)
Position summary:
After proper training thereto the Field Inspector performs all aspects of field inspection services including shore tanks, barges and ships. Certifies that field assignments conform to company policies and procedures as well as job specific instructions supplied by the Operations Department. As company field representative, acts in a professional manner so as to maintain the company’s respected and trusted reputation.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Acts as a Company representative in the field. Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities as per company policies and procedures
- Effectively communicates all aspects of assigned job duties. Maintains regular contact with the Operations Department, terminals and vessel to avoid delays or conflicts
- Measures (gauge and temperature) material, performs all required field calculations, completes all required field documentation and submits reports to the Operations Department
- Performs specialized inspection services such as loss control, wall washings or confined space entry upon receiving required training
- Assists in the training of Inspectors with less experience
- Reports to the Operations Manager, but may receive direction on day-to-day activities from the Field Supervisor and/or Operations Department
Profile:
- Must possess basic computer and math skills
- maintain a valid driver's license
- Able to work independently and be able to effectively communicate and maintain professional relationships with customers
- Field experience is considered to be an advantage but not required
- Being able to identify problems and find the appropriate solution to it
- Personal qualities: motivated, trustworthy, communicative, flexible, precise, …
- Languages: perfect knowledge of Dutch and English. Good understanding of French and/or German are considered advantageous
